In acknowledgement of Black History Month, Blaneys was honored to welcome back Liben Gebremikael, Chief Executive Officer of TAIBU Community Health Centre, to lead a viewing and discussion of TAIBU’s inaugural documentary, “Working While Black: The phenomenon of walking through the door”, directed by Fateh Ahmed.
The documentary shares the real and unfiltered testimonies of Black Canadian professionals and scholars who intimately describe the subtlety and scars of systemic racism. After the viewing, Blaneys employees engaged in an insightful discussion around the documentary’s themes, as well as practical and meaningful solutions to addressing anti-Black racism in the workplace.
