Maryam is developing a broad litigation practice with a focus on insurance defense litigation, including occupiers’ liability, professional negligence, product liability, property damage, subrogation, environmental law, and construction law. Maryam has represented clients before courts and tribunals, including Superior Court of Justice and the License Appeal Tribunal.
Previously, Maryam worked at boutique law firms specializing in insurance defense litigation, where she developed expertise and insight into diverse areas of the practice.
During law school, Maryam worked for Pro Bono Students Canada, where she developed and managed 30+ teams to provide legal information to various marginalized groups in Toronto facing barriers to justice. Prior to this, Maryam was a PBSC volunteer, working with Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children to provide legal support to women and children in shelters.
