 Overview

Rob maintains a diverse secured lending practice focused primarily on real estate and equipment financing. Rob provides practical, deal-focused advice to a broad range of clients, including large developers, financial institutions, institutional and private lenders, and international lenders operating in Canada through Canadian subsidiaries.

In real estate finance, Rob acts for lenders and borrowers alike. He prepares and negotiates loan and security documents for construction and development lending, term, bridge and land loans, CMHC-insured loans, acquisition financings, refinancings, mezzanine and subordinated debt, and syndicated lending, including participation agreements.

Rob's equipment finance practice similarly spans both lenders and borrowers. He regularly drafts and negotiates documents for acquisition financing for asset and share purchases; syndicated facilities; factoring and receivables purchase facilities; floorplan and inventory financing; and lending and leasing for heavy machinery, construction equipment and trucking fleets. His practice also includes asset-based revolving credit facilities with borrowing base structures; master lease, sublease and vendor program structures; and general secured lending facilities.

Rob brings strong business acumen to every transaction, addressing clients' financing needs from both a legal and a commercially practical point of view. Rob is known for his attention to detail, strong communication and effective problem-solving skills. He uses those strengths to protect his clients' collateral and operating positions, keep deals on schedule and deliver cost-effective results.
