Blaney McMurtry Announces Long-Term Commitment to SickKids Foundation

Toronto, ON - December 16th, 2025 - Blaney McMurtry LLP is proud to announce a $1 million philanthropic commitment with The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation (SickKids Foundation), supporting the vital work of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the patients, families, and communities it serves.

SickKids is the world’s leading paediatric health-care centre, dedicated to advancing children’s health through clinical care, research, and innovation. Its commitment to transform care and improve health outcomes for children aligns deeply with Blaney McMurtry’s longstanding mission to strengthening the communities where we live and work.

“Blaney McMurtry’s generosity will make a remarkable difference,” says Colin Hennigar, Chief Development Officer, SickKids Foundation. "This significant commitment will support the hospital’s highest priority needs and essential programs, such as the patient experience equipment initiative that aims to improve comfort, dignity, and care for children and their families. We are deeply grateful for their support and the lasting impact it will have on child health for years to come."

Blaney McMurtry will be supporting two core priorities identified by SickKids Foundation: enhancing patient experience through critical equipment at the hospital and advancing SickKids’ highest priority needs that help shape the future of paediatric care. Our support will also contribute to SickKids’ Heal the Future Campaign “TheNext150”, an initiative designed to accelerate breakthroughs in child health and ensure world-class care for generations to come.

“Supporting SickKids is an investment in the wellbeing of children and families who rely on world-class care during some of the hardest moments of their lives,” says Shawn Wolfson, Managing Partner at Blaney McMurtry. “As a firm, we’re deeply aware that behind every diagnosis is a child who deserves hope, and every treatment is a step toward a healthier future. We’re proud to stand with SickKids in advancing care that truly changes lives.”

As part of this long-term partnership, Blaney McMurtry will remain closely engaged with SickKids Foundation and the hospital teams to understand how the firm’s support is contributing to improved patient experiences and meeting emerging needs. The firm will also be acknowledged through the naming of a collaboration room within the Patient Support Centre, a gesture that reflects the shared commitment to creating spaces that strengthen care and connection, while keeping the central focus on supporting the hospital’s mission and the communities it serves.

“Our commitment to SickKids is a commitment to families,” says Chad Kopach, Partner at Blaney McMurtry. “When we looked at where our support could have the greatest impact, SickKids stood out for its dedication to innovation. Their work touches families across every community, including our own colleagues, clients, and neighbours. Knowing that our contribution will directly enhance the patient experience and support critical hospital needs makes this partnership especially meaningful to us.”

Blaney McMurtry looks forward to working closely with SickKids Foundation over the next decade to help advance patient care, support hospital priorities, and contribute to better outcomes for children now and in the future.
