 Overview

Andrea is a tech transactional attorney with experience as outside General Counsel to technology (healthcare), entertainment (merchandise licensing), software (SaaS, open source, tech-transfer, non-disclosure, AI) digital marketing and media clients, assisting in their operational needs such as drafting and negotiating technology licensing agreements and guiding them through the process of sale. As an IP specialist, certified lawyer in Ontario, Quebec, and Massachusetts, Andrea is also a registered Patent Agent/Attorney and Certified Canadian Patent Administrator (technical background biology; drafting patents for methods, e-commerce, mechanical and designs). Andrea has been appointed by the Federal Government to a SAGIT (Sectoral Advisory Group on International Trade) and appointed by the Federal Government to the Information Highway Advisory Council (IHAC) Copyright Subcommittee. 

Andrea has worked at the Department of Justice as well as in the private sector, representing clients in English and French. As a peer rated lawyer in Chambers, Best Lawyers, Lexpert and WTR, Andrea has built a distinguished practice. Former Chair of the LSO IP Specialist Certification Board, she has also received awards from the Law Society (Longterm Professional Development), Copyright Society of the USA (Charles Seton Prize), Federal Department of Justice (Duff Rinfret Scholar) and McGill University, (Law Faculty; Music Faculty).
